The grapes come exclusively from the vineyard of the FREY-SOHLER Family

SOILS:

composed of alluvion, sand and granite. This unusual "terroir", warm and filtrating gives to the hills of Scherwiller the most dapted area for growing Riesling wines in this part of Alsace.

 VINTAGE:

2008

Residual sugar: 6.1 g/l

Vol/Alc. 12%

 VINIFICATION:

Traditional methods are used for vinification of this Riesling. Pneumatic winepress, temperatur control. The fermentations are led by themselves, as in the beginning as they start over.

TASTING:

EYES:a elegant "robe" with bright reflexions

NOSE : Floral with delicacy, vivacity and well-balanced, lightly locust-flower typed

TASTE : dry, delicatly fruity; it has an elegant bouquet with mineral notes. Recognised as one of the world's finest wine varietals, it is a gastronomic wine. A great harmony, a good structure, open and wide, a nice and delicate freshness.

 

 

 SERVING:

 To serve between 8° et 10°C.

Best in the future: to be kept five years

GASTRONOMY:

King of the Alsace wines, Riesling gives its entire winy-expression with seafood, crustaceous and mussles, also with cooked & elabored fishes as "terrines", crude or grilled fihes, white meats as chicken or turkey with french sauce, cheses with neutral taste and goat's cheese. A special mention for accompanying the famous "choucroute alsacienne" and local plates & culinar specialities of Alsace.
