The hill of Rittersberg is composed of granite (two micas) and sand. At the foot of the Ortenburg Castle, this vineyard is near to the Ortenburg biotope (both flora and fauna of this site which enjoy a particularly mild microclimate) |

2007 Residual sugar: 14.8 g/l Vol/Alc. 13% |
VINIFICATION: |
Traditional methods are used for vinification of this Riesling. Pneumatic winepress, temperatur control. The fermentations are led by themselves, as in the beginning as they start over. |
TASTING: |
EYES: an elegant colour, with yellow gold reflexions NOSE : its intense bouquet display rich aromas of roses TASTE : Robust, full-bodied, fine and long, roses and peach flowour |
SERVING: |
To serve between 8° et 10°C. |
IMPROVEMENT |
Best in the future: to be kept three to five years |
GASTRONOMY: |
Sumptuous with exotic dishes (spicy dishes, sweet and sour dishes, specialy chineese dishes, mild curry, Tandoori chicken) and soft cheeses and washed rind cheeses (Stilton cheeses...) as a superior aperittif and, naturally, with dessert. |
